Houston Mini Maker Faire will be at the Stafford Centre Saturday Nov. 1st from 10AM till 5PM.

Houston Mini Maker Faire claims, “we were all born to be learners and creators”. The purpose of maker events is to ignite people’s passion to learn, do, and make. Makers are the technology subsection of DIY (Do It Yourself) culture.

Exhibits will feature new technology, robotics, electronics, crafts, engineering, STEM, makers and makerspaces. There will be activities for ages 4 and up.

Multiple live presentations of the award winning “Science in the Movies” by Steve Wolf will be hosted in the Stafford Theatre next door. Wolf is a stunt and special effects artist. There is no additional charge for the show.

Tickets at the door are $20 for adults, $12 for children and college students, and teachers get in free. Tickets bought online in advance are slightly discounted. Student and teacher IDs are required to receive the respective discounts. Ages 16 and up may volunteer for a 3-4 hour shift to gain free admission, see website for details.

The Stafford Convention Centre is at 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas. It is less than half a mile from Houston Community College’s Southwest Stafford campus. Parking is free.
