Are you in need of hands-on experience? Wonder what it’s like behind the scenes at a con? Maybe you also enjoy working with groups of people or even guests?

Sign up to be a volunteer at Comicpalooza. You can also get rewarded for your time!

This year which will run from May 10-12, promises to be as big as last year with Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones headlining the convention this year along with her co-star Nathalie Emmanuel, as well The Flash’s Grant Gustin, and Wilmer Valderrama from That 70’s Show.

Volunteers at Comicpalooza can help in so many ways. From ticketing and will call, to monitoring panels, to photography. There’s also the behind-the-scenes kind of help. You can help drive guests from the airport to the convention, as well as to escort them to their panels or autograph booths.

There’s a multitude of things you as a volunteer can do. Normally, you are required to do a minimum of two shifts of four hours each. More than two is encouraged, but not required. As long as you give your time to the convention, you’ll earn some perks!

Speaking of perks, with volunteering, you will gain free access to the convention for the whole weekend. You’ll also get free parking during your volunteer shifts, as well as free food if you decide to volunteer for more than four hours. You’ll get a special Volunteer badge, a t-shirt, and a convention survival bag for you to keep.

Best of all, you will make friends, gain valuable experience, and have a blast!

A few things to note, according to Monica Whitt, who is the lead Volunteer Coordinator for Comicpalooza: all positions are unpaid, and all interested volunteers must go through a quick background check to ensure their eligibility to participate. Crash space is not provided, unfortunately.

Registration ends on May 1 at 5 p.m. You can click here to register. For more information, you can email Monica at [email protected].
