Last week, Billboard had their awards show to uplift and pay tribute to the women in music who are gracing us their sound and voice. Wonderful female artists were in attendance to this event such as SZA, Becky G, Dove Cameron, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Coi Leray, Sabrina Carpenter, Latto, Rosalia, Kim Petras, and many more.

Women of the Year award was given to the well-deserved singer SZA who has come out with hit after hit with her music and who is currently on her sold out showstopper “SOS” arena tour. With her recent highly anticipated album “SOS”, it has broken records by being the first R&B album by a female artist to spend its first four weeks on the Billboard 200 #1 since 1993 Janet Jackson album “Janet.”. The “Good Days” singer also became the only female artist along with Taylor Swift in history to chart at least 20 songs on the Hot 100.

“Saying yes to everything that’s scary, to everything that feel like it’s not for you, or where you don’t belong is really the only way we walk through those doors,” she said during her genuine acceptance speech. “You just have to say yes to the possibility.”

Another iconic moment of the night was when Kpop Group “TWICE” performed that had the crowd going wild and singing along with their hit “Moonlight Sunrise”. The group was honored that night for the “Breakthrough” award which was monumental as they were the first Kpop group to be awarded that.
