The holidays are quickly creeping up on us with all the decorations, family gatherings, food, and presents. But what is the holidays without our favorite Christmas music? Unfortunately, my favorite Christmas song isn’t Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ or Ariana Grande’s ‘Santa Tell Me’ Mine is Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ After 38 years, the English pop duo Wham’s iconic Christmas song is #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts as of this week.

‘Last Christmas’ was released in December 3rd, 1984 and was featured on a double A-side vinyl record of another one of their popular singles, ‘Everything She Wants’ in the United Kingdom. At the time, the single had spent five continuous weeks at number two on the United Kingdom charts and did not reach the United States single charts until 2014!

The single was written and produced by lead singer George Michael, who had written many other phenomenal and catchy songs, such as ‘Careless Whisper’ that was trending on TikTok earlier this year. The incredibly talented musician also recorded all the chorus’ and instruments for the song.

This year Hyde Park located in London, England is hosting a Winter Wonderland event that includes a WHAM! ‘Last Christmas’ experience. You are able to take a journey with friends and family in the cabin that is featured in the official music video. Scenes from the video are displayed to make it feel extra nostalgic.
