The chron.com states “Actor Matthew McConaughey says his decision to run for Texas governor will be announced “shortly” as the deadline to declare approaches on December 13.” Although many people were excited and thought this was a done deal, McConaughey wants to study and prepare for his new role before stepping into politics.

“It’s a new embassy of leadership that I have really been doing my diligence to study, to look into, to question what it is, what would it be for me,” McConaughey told Hollywood Report’s, James Hibberd. I take my hat off for the decision of making sure that this is something he is ready to commit to. Some people would’ve made up their minds even if they realized beforehand that they were not interested in politics. This time before the decision becomes permanent should be taken seriously like McConaughey is doing.
