Daughter motivated Watts to not give up

Watts gives her account of overcoming loss; being motivated by daughter to succeed

Jamie Watts

Hi, my name is Jamie Watts.

I will be a Spring 2020 graduate with my associate of arts in multidisciplinary studies.

My journey wasn’t easy at all. I lost my mom in 1998. It’s been a very hard mental issue on me since then, and today I don’t know what happened to my mother.

But, I do know that I am a very strong mother, advocate and woman to my daughter, who is the reason why I never gave up. I’ve been in school so long I exceeded my funds, but guess what? I finally made it and I’m proud to say I’m done.

I have so many credits because I was undecided at the beginning with all the issues that was going on with me and my daughter, but I’m proud and thank you HCC for giving me another chance.

I want to thank my English 1302 professor, Dr. Brandon Hernsberger, he gave me hope no one never made me feel and have so much joy in class as he did because I never liked taking in person classes until I meet Dr. B.
