Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will be sidelined at least two weeks with a left quadriceps strain, the team announced on Monday.
Clark recorded her third double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 assists in Saturday’s 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty.
The guard is averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals through four starts for the Fever in her second WNBA season. Clark is shooting 40.3% from the field and 31.4% from three-point range.
The No 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Clark won rookie of the year honors and made the All-Star and All-WNBA teams following a record-setting career at Iowa.
It was not immediately clear when the 23-year-old sustained the quad injury.
After starting the first 44 games of her WNBA career, Clark will miss her first game when Indiana visit the Washington Mystics on Wednesday. With a two-week timeline, she could miss four games before a potential return on 10 June at Atlanta.
