The war which began October 7 last year between Israel and Hamas in Gaza seems getting worst and prolonged according to the official statements of the leaders of the Middle East.
“The enemies of the Islamic world are the enemies of Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, and Yemen” said the Iranian Supreme leader Ali Khamenei last Friday in a sermon from Tehran.
“I have a message for the Tyrants of Tehran: If you strike us, we will strike you. There is no place—there is no place in Iran—that the long arm of Israel cannot reach. And that is true of the entire Middle East” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United Nations general assembly, in New York on September 27, 2024.
Iran already struck Israel with cruise and ballistic missiles after PM Benjamin’s speech. The Iranian spiritual leader Ali Khamenei described the ballistic attack on Israel as “completely legal and legitimate.” Also, Iran is threatening Israel to continue doing so by itself and its proxies: Hamas in Israel, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthis in Yemen, Shiite militias in Syria, and Iraq.
The United States, European Union and international community are calling for ceasefire, but Prime Minister Netanyahu is rejecting it, “I want to make it clear: we will continue to hit Hezbollah mercilessly in all parts of Lebanon – also in Beirut” said this morning according to the Jerusalem Post.
And the Iranian Supreme leader is also encouraging the Muslim world to resist, “every strike against Israel servers the entire region” and “no one has the right to object to their resistance “he said in his Sermon last Friday.
The war that began on October 7 last year, when Hamas invaded from Gaza and killed 1,200 Israelis including foreigners, and kidnapped over 250, (101 remaining with Hamas), Israel has destroyed Gaza by killing tense thousands of Palestinians and displacing millions. The United States of America warns Israel that weapons shipments could impact if it does not address the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The war now has become a regional war. Israel is involved with Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Suria, and now Iran. Russia and China are on the Iran’s side. America, especially if Trump is elect and most European Union member countries will continue supporting Israel. The war may be gap for a while but seems to continue in one or the other way.
