Katy Texas Urban Legend Centuries In The Making

Established in 1900 the Magnolia cemetery, just down the street from Katy mills mall, houses the founding fathers of Katy Texas, civil war soldiers, and a Barbra Snyder.

Snyder passed away in the year 1911 in the Magnolia cemetery in Harris county with a larger headstone that displayed an engraved poem.

The poem engraved on the tombstone of Barbara A. Snyder reads “Remember me as you pass by, As you are now, so once was I: As I am now, you soon shall be, Prepare for death and follow me.”

This engraving would spark an urban legend

Legend has it, if you read the words at her grave, you must pay, or risk bad luck for the rest of your life. There have also been tales of visitors seeing the image of the witch behind them in mirrors. However, there is no proof to any of this
