Taylor Swift takes her fans by surprise when she announced a new album during the 66th Grammy Award Show

Finally the time had arrived for the Grammys, the time where all musical artists come together to honor the best records, singles, albums, performances, etc. of the year. Leading up to the Grammys, Swifties have been anticipating Taylor Swift to announce her re-recording of her 2017 album, “reputation.”

There had been many easter eggs that really convinced everyone that Swift was going to announcereputation (Taylor’s Version)” while she won her 13th grammy. Swifties are known for cracking easter eggs that lead up to an announcement, or figuring out many easter eggs in her music that bring stories together.

What Swift had most recently done this past week was change her profile picture on her social media platforms to black and white, as well as other celebrities who are some of her close friends like Blake Lively, Keleigh Teller, as well as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Her fans were already believing the theory that she was going to announce her re-recording during the Grammys, but this was what really 100% percent convinced her fans.

Moments before the Grammys had begun, Swift’s website was also down showing a “321 error code.” Her team, Taylor Nation, had also confirmed that this error was on purpose which was just the cherry on top for her fans to be fully persuaded that reputation (Taylor’s Version) was on its way. People believed that the 321 stood for (3/21; March 21st) which was when the phone call between her and Kanye West was leaked which led to the time period where Swift was very hated because they portrayed her to be a “liar” and a “snake” when she was far from that. This eventually led to the making of reputation. The definition for error code 321 is, “a communication error that would appear on a fax machine with a poor telephone line connection.” Which could have been referencing her lyrics, “I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now” in her song, Look What You Made Me Do.

Everyone was also anticipating the reveal of her outfit for the award show, because she is also known to give a message through her outfits that she wears. She was wearing a beautiful white gown, long black gloves, and beautiful diamond necklaces. This black and white outfit was very reputation coded.

As she was accepting her Grammy for winning Best Vocal Pop Album for her album Midnights, she surprised the whole world by announcing her completely new album that she had been hiding for two years, “The Tortured Poets Department.” which she will be releasing April 19th of this year. As she exited the stage she then went to post the cover of her new album, which quickly revealed the reason why she had changed her profile picture to black and white, was because her new album cover is of course, black and white.

As the most anticipated award of the night, Album of the Year finally approached, Taylor Swift went up to accept her second Grammy of the night for her album Midnights.

The Tortured Poets Department is now available to pre-order on Swift’s official website.
