Houston Doctor get privileges removed after misleading COVID information was posted on twitter
November 17, 2021
“Mary Bowden, an ear, nose, and throat doctor at Houston Methodist Hospital, says vaccine mandates are wrong,” stated Chron.com.
Methodist Hospital worker used her own personal Twitter to state that she is shifting her practice to non-vaccinated people. On top of that statement, she also has tweeted about an “anti-parasitic drug ivermectin as a treatment for the coronavirus, despite warnings from public health officials advising people not to take it”.
Although having a right to her opinion, this cost her the rest of her career at Houston Methodist for she”has been suspended for “spreading dangerous misinformation” and sharing “harmful” personal and political opinions about the coronavirus vaccine and treatments”.
This situation adds to the question: should doctors and other healthcare professionals be suspended for not following guidelines? Does this impede on any of their rights as an American? Is this suspension enacted to show what is right, or are more people getting out in danger for not being able to be treated if not vaccinated?
