Seattle Sounders FC won the MLS Cup by beating Toronto FC yesterday with a score of 3-1. This is the third time in four years where both teams have met in the finals. The first time they met was in the 2016 final where Seattle won 5-4 on penalties. The second meeting was in 2017; Toronto won 2-0. This is Seattle’s second title in club history. This was also the first time these two teams played at CenturyLink Field in Seattle (the previous two matches were held in BMO Field, Toronto’s home ground). Over 69,000 raving Sounders and Toronto fans were in attendance, marking this game the second largest MLS Cup final in order of attendance.
