Juventus’ scorer switches to defense
Ronaldo accused of rape
October 3, 2018
Juventus soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo is being accused of raping a woman nine years ago in Las Vegas, Nevada. The woman is now suing Ronaldo in a civil act case she made against him.
Kathryn Mayorga claims Cristiano Ronaldo raped her in a Las Vegas hotel on June 13, 2009.
She signed a nondisclosure agreement from Ronaldo’s team of fixers and claimed she received $375,000 in exchange for her silence. She decided to come out because of the #metoo trend that is going around twitter.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Kathryn Mayorga met at a Las Vegas nightclub name rain. Ronaldo was in town with his brother in law and cousin for vacation. It was the summer Ronaldo was transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid for 94 million euros.
She was with a friend at the nightclub when Mayorga and Ronaldo met. They exchanged numbers and Ronaldo left. Later, she receives a text from Ronaldo telling her to be a friend to a party next at the Palms Casino Resort.
Once they got there, Mayorga and her friend were told the party was over, but Ronaldo came and said they were going to do a party and invited them to his penthouse suite.
Mayorga wasn’t on planning to stay because at the time she was a model and had a photoshoot in the morning and didn’t want to ruin her dress.
Before she was going to leave, Ronaldo offered her a shirt and shorts so, Maygora could change. She saw her friend having fun and wanted to join her since her friend was in town as well.
She took the clothes from Ronaldo and went to the bathroom to change, and the bathroom was attached to a bedroom. As she was changing Ronaldo approached her and was asking her for oral sex, but Maygora refused.
After that Maygora thought she got away from Ronaldo, but he came back and pulled her into a bedroom. In her story on Spiegel Online, she said, “I still wasn’t afraid at all. I was just like, ‘Man, this guy’s adamant.’ The most adamant I’ve ever dealt with. I explain to him: ‘Listen dude, this is not going to happen.” Ronaldo forced himself on her and raped her.
Maygora told the staff at Spiegel Online, “After he assaulted me, he wouldn’t let me leave again. He wouldn’t let me leave. And he was calling me ‘baby, baby.’ He gave me this look, this guilty look. Almost like he felt bad. I don’t remember, but I’m pretty sure he said ‘sorry’ or ‘Are you hurt?’ And by this time, he’s on his knees. He says the 99 percent thing.” He insisted, she says that he was “a good guy” except for the “one percent.”
After the assault, Maygora realized what happened and asked Ronaldo if he had a disease and Ronald responded with no, I’m a professional athlete and I get tested every three months. I couldn’t play my game with a disease.
She decided to stay at Ronaldo’s Penthouse and went inside the Jacuzzi with her friend.
Maygora refused to tell anyone what happened but she wanted to do the rape kit at a hospital, but she didn’t dare to go to the hospital.
Her friend called her telling her that they were all over the news and Maygora felt overwhelmed. She said to her friend “He raped me,” and her friend warned her about professional athletes and how hard it is to get justice.
Maygora went to the hospital to get a Sexual Examination done on her.
Kathryn claims she went to the Las Vegas police to make a report, but she didn’t describe or tell the police who raped her. A few days ago she asked the Las Vegas police to reopen her case since she finally came out with a name.
The Las Vegas police came out with this statement, “ The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department responded to a call of a sexual assault on June 13, 2009. At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide the detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description. A medical exam was conducted. As of September 2018, the case has been reopened, and our detectives are following up on information being provided by the victim. This is an on-going investigation, and no further details will be released at this time.”
Mayorga told Christopher Winterbach, writer at the German publication Derspiegel, that she was too afraid to come out with her story because she didn’t want to put her name on the story.
Unlike other celebrities, Ronaldo claims that this is fake news and even went on Instagram to do a live feed telling all his fans, “what they said today, fake news. They wanted to promote by my name. It’s normal. They wanted to be famous to say my name. Yeah, it’s part of the job. I’m a happy man, and all good” His lawyer is trying to sue the publication claiming the story was illegal and violates his rights.
Winterbach went to twitter and had a statement about his lawyers trying to sue them and said, “Ronaldo’s lawyer now still says that our publication was “illegal” because “ it violates his personal rights” of @cristiano. Pay attention! He doesn’t call it “a piece of journalistic fiction,” he doesn’t call it fake. He just says it’s too personal to become public.”
Since the case has been reopened, Ronaldo will have to say his side of the story of nine years ago soon.
