Photographer of the Month: Marivic So

Members of the HCC Photography Club named Marivic So the student photographer of the month. Her photo was selected by her photography professor as the winning image.
So said that, “I was born in the Philippines, with Chinese blood, and was brought up here in Texas. I am currently the President of the HCC Photography Club. I love to write, take pictures, and to travel all around the world.”
She explains that she has enjoyed photography, “Since I was in grades school. My very first camera was a Minolta SRT303b then got my very first DSLR back in 2007.”
So says her inspiration is the, “Life and the beauty that’s all around us. I love to take stolen shots most because that’s the point where you can see the real emotions on everyone’s face.”
Her favorite form of photography is nature and landscape photography.
The Photography Club provides a meeting place for students interested in photography to share their knowledge and experiences. The group organizes events, photo-walks and exhibitions for students to display their work.
