Alief Open Mic a hit

Raza Mir, Contributor

The Alief Creative Writer’s Club hosted an Open Mic event on March 9, drawing many Houston Community College students and faculty.

Talented writers and performers at HCC showcased their talents and confronted their fears of facing a crowd. Audience members were supportive friends and family there to appreciate the art of public speaking while having a good time.

There many talented singers, bands, poets and public speakers that showed the power of words can also at times, be stronger than actions. The event concluded with a registration for the Alief Creative Writer’s Club. The group has meetings every Tuesday at 3:30pm in the Alief-Hayes Campus’ Atrium. A variety of talent is displayed on campus on a daily basis.

On behalf of the club, I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Eva Foster. The  event would not have been successful without her constant support for the club.
