On January 22, 1973 “Big” George Foreman TKO’s “Smoking” Joe Frazier to win the Heavy Weight Title.

Frazier entered the fight undefeated with a record of 29-0 as did Foreman with his record at 37-0.

Frazier hit the canvas three times in the first round barely making it to the second.

The second round was much like the first with Foreman demolishing Frazier knocking him down three more times before the fight was called at the 1:35 mark earning Foreman the Heavy Weight Title by TKO.

The fight is remembered by Howard Cosell’s call of, “Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!”
